Founded by equine veterinary surgeon Emily Westwood BVM&S MRCVS, Pocket Nook Equine Vets is a new small and friendly equine veterinary practice situated in Lowton, Warrington.
Covering 25. mile radius, Emily at Pocket Nook brings an empathetic and skilled approach to caring for your horse whether on site or at your stables.
All diagnostic equipment is fully portable, from a brand new digital x-ray machine that offers the highest quality images, and a top of the range ultrasound machine for diagnosing tendon/ligament injuries - great for getting a detailed evaluation of your horse, enabling him/her to get the correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
Emily has keen interest in orthopaedics, concentrating on poor performance in the sports horse, and has spent many years training with some of the best lameness vets, both here in the UK and overseas.

Pocket Nook Health Plans
Maintaining your horses health is the key to preventing problems from occurring in the first place. Pocket Nook Equine Vets Ltd have a great annual health plan that covers pretty much all of the preventative health care - with a generous saving of 30% for our first 50 clients that register.
What does it include;
✔️Annual vaccination (flu and tet combination/flu/tet).
✔️Routine dental (including sedation).
✔️Worm egg counts - 4 per year.
✔️Wormer (x2 - if required following worm egg counts).
✔️Lameness/pre-seasonal MOT consultation
✔️Lateral foot x-rays - 4 feet.
✔️ 1x visit charge
All this for £28 per month!
Total cost individually would normally be around £500 - making you a great saving of £164 per year! Extra money for carrots!

Register Your Horse or Pony
Pre-registration has now closed due to full capacity for our new equine veterinary ambulatory service opening for business on 1st August 2022. If you’d like to register with us, we’ll be intaking new clients in the early Autumn. Please check back for to find out when registration reopens.
Emily will be providing ambulatory veterinary services to your horse/pony - managing most things in the comfort of your horses stable/yard.
Covering everything from vaccinations and dentistry, through to lameness investigations and emergency work. Emily has excellent equestrian facilities here at Pocket Nook for further work ups/overnight care.
Home/Stable Visit Price Bands
Pocket Nook Equine Vets operate a clear and simple price band structure for routine call visits. Emergency visits out of hours will be charged at double rates. Normal hours of business are 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Please note that we can only provide veterinary care for horses within 25 miles of Pocket Nook Farm WA3 1AU - please check the distance before registration. This is to ensure that we can get to you in a suitable time frame during an emergency.

There is no call out fee for horses that are currently staying at Pocket Nook for Breaking, Schooling and Rehab livery. If your horse is staying with us please and you’d like an appointment contact Emily directly.
