John Leigh
Good Old Fashioned Horseman
John started his career as a show jumper, before training In horse breaking. He has over 30 years experience in the breaking industry, with an excellent reputation working with horses in the North West. He works with the young horses here at Pocket Nook, covering all aspects of handling, lunging and long-reining, ensuring that they get the confidence that they need to get the best start ready for their ridden careers.
What this man doesn’t know about horses is not worth knowing!

Matthew Leigh
Horse Breaker
Matthew has the brave job of establishing the ridden part of the horses career. He has learnt all he knows from his father John, and takes over once the horses have established the groundwork and are ready for a rider. He is quiet, empathetic and kind - just the type of person we want when starting our young horses off under saddle.
